This community is only 30 m by 20 m in between an oak-hickory forest.;This is a steep, sandstone slope with a forest break which appears gladey, but is mostly colluvium rather bedrock. Graminoids dominate the herb layer while short statured Carya spp create a sparse wood;and physiognomy. Dead trees probably due to shallow soils and drought stress from heat reflection.
Representativeness
Plot sampled for an example of a gladey type of community.
